Poole Beer Festival 2020 cancelled

The East Dorset CAMRA Beer Festival Committee recently met and has unfortunately reached the decision to cancel the 2020 Poole Beer Festival.

We have been reviewing the situation regarding Covid-19 and have reached the point where a firm decision has to be made. The health and safety of the volunteers, customers, brewers, charity representatives and everyone involved in the organisation of the festival is our main concern. Whilst we cannot predict what official restrictions on travel and gatherings will be in place by October, it is clear that social distancing will continue to be required. It will be impossible to arrange such measures for a two-day festival such as ours. Any measures we could take would have a negative impact on the overall experience for all. We have considered the practicalities of running the festival and just don’t think it can be done.

We’re sorry to everyone who was looking forward to the festival but all being well we’ll be back with a bang next year!

Instead of the festival we hope to run a Festival of Beer across pubs and breweries in East Dorset when circumstances allow. This would run across a weekend and encourage people to visit participating pubs and breweries – more information later in the year.
